Acceptable Use Policy

Nextbard is built for business research: finding out which organisations exist in a niche and who to write to at them. It is not a spam tool, and accounts that use it as one are closed. This policy forms part of the Terms of Service and is binding on every account.

What Nextbard does, and does not do

• It reads pages that are publicly published and reachable without a login.
• It does not bypass logins, paywalls, CAPTCHAs or any other access control.
• It caps how many pages it opens at once, so a site is never hit at a rate that would burden it.
• It skips social networks, directories and marketplaces by default, and honours the skip lists you set.
• It does not send email, host campaigns, or connect to your mailbox.
• It does not sell, licence or supply pre-built contact lists. Every address in your account came from a search you wrote.

Site owners: if you do not want your domain read by Nextbard, email support@nextbard.com and we will add it to a global exclusion list that applies to every account.

You may use Nextbard to

• Research organisations operating in a market or region.
• Build a list of businesses to approach with a relevant, individually considered offer.
• Find the right contact point at an organisation instead of guessing at info@.
• Enrich or verify contact details you already hold.
• Do partnership, supplier, recruitment or academic research.

You may not use Nextbard to

Send unsolicited bulk email

Collected addresses may not be loaded into a bulk sender and blasted. Outreach must be relevant to the recipient's business and must comply with the email law that applies to you and to them — including CAN-SPAM in the United States, GDPR and PECR in Europe and the UK, and CASL in Canada. That means accurate sender information, a real subject line, a working unsubscribe link, a physical postal address, and opt-outs honoured promptly.

Ignore an opt-out

Once someone asks you to stop, you stop — and you do not collect them again. Keep your own suppression list and apply it to your skip settings.

Collect data you have no basis to use

Nextbard is for business contact data. Do not use it to target private individuals at home, to assemble profiles of named people, or to gather special-category data — health, ethnicity, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation, trade union membership. Do not target children.

Resell what you collect

Exported data is for your own outreach and research. You may not resell it, publish it, licence it, trade it, or feed it into a commercial contact database.

Commit fraud or abuse

No phishing, impersonation, malware distribution, extortion, harassment, stalking, hate speech, or any scheme designed to deceive the recipient. No use for or on behalf of anything on a sanctions list.

Attack or overload the service

No sharing credentials to dodge plan limits, no automating the interface to circumvent credit accounting, no scraping Nextbard itself, no probing it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, no reselling access.

Your obligations as a data controller

When you collect contact data with Nextbard, you become the data controller for it. That is your legal position, not ours, and it carries real duties. Where the GDPR applies you must:

• Have a lawful basis for the processing — normally legitimate interest, which you should document with a balancing assessment.
• Give the notice required by Article 14 when you first contact the person, telling them where you got their address.
• Honour access, objection and erasure requests, and act on them without delay.
• Keep the data no longer than you need it.

Comparable duties apply under other regimes. We give you a tool; making your use of it lawful where you and your recipients are is your responsibility. This policy is not legal advice — if you are unsure, take some.

Enforcement

We investigate every report we receive. Depending on what we find we may warn you, suspend runs, throttle the account, remove collected data, or terminate the account.

Serious breaches — spam campaigns, fraud, harassment, reselling data — end the account immediately and without refund. Where the law requires it we will report the matter to the relevant authority.

Reporting abuse

If you have received unwanted email from someone using Nextbard, or you believe an account is breaching this policy, email support@nextbard.com. Include the message headers if you have them. We reply within 3 business days and act on what we find.
